  1. Six benefits of cloud computing

    1. Trade CapEx for OpEx 2. Massive economies of scale 3. Stop guessing capacity 4. Increase speed and agility 5. Stop spending on data centres 6. Go global in minutes

  2. What is the AWS definition of cloud computing?

On-demand delivery of IT resources over the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing. No upfront hardware investment, no capacity guessing, no maintenance overhead.

  3. Client-server model on AWS

Client = browser or app making a request. Server = Amazon EC2 (virtual server) processing the request and returning a response. EC2 replaces physical servers.

  4. What does "trade capital expense for variable expense" mean?

Instead of investing in data centres before knowing how you'll use them, pay only for the compute you actually consume. No wasted capacity, no under-provisioning risk.

  5. What is the AWS Global Infrastructure?

A worldwide network of Regions and Availability Zones that host AWS services. Each Region has ≥2 AZs; each AZ has ≥1 data centre. Edge Locations cache content globally via CloudFront.
